i’m not sure if i touched on this before. but it was brought up again during the lunch table. i’m really glad i’ve got jams as a friend and someone whom anyone can turn to. did you know his ancestors were like the wise men of the east in the gospels? no wonder he’s wise!
someone asked us about honoring our parents, and how we should honor them even though they seem so demanding. Jams then told us about this superior of his who had ideas he didnt approve of and how he fought her every single step of the way until things were so bad she wanted to fire him. then he attended a bible study and the message was on honoring people above us. the thing is that whatever our superiors do, they are answerable for their actions. we as their subordinates are supposed to help/assist them as long as it doesnt go against the law. even if we have some thought/idea which we really feel strongly about, and we want to bring it across, there’s an art.
“sure, i will do as what you told me to do. don’t worry. but, dont you think it will be better is we did ______________________________ instead?”
so what jams bought her flowers the following day (which happened to be her birthday, so clever of him! flowers and girls just work! kudos to you jams!) and started agreeing with her and her ideas. very soon, she began to see jams’ point of view and things took a turn for the better. right now, the company gives him a monthly car allowance and it because she recommended him for it.
lets take away the benefits of the story, the car allowance and such. i think what we can all take away from this is that when we start to put aside our egos, we can actually make both parties happy and feel honored.
thanks jams. =)

anyways, pictures from comms parade is up!
please, don’t tell me how cute this guy and that guy looks. i dont even know these people for crying out loud.
went back to camp for commissioning parade, here’s to 2LT Shaun Neo and 2LT Romeo Tan.
i learnt something today. never ever ever acknowledge anyone in the crowd if you’re the official photographer. my ex poly classmate’s mum, whose son (my ex poly classmate’s boyfriend) was commissioning screamed at me to take her son’s photo. everyone was looking at me. EVERYONE.
anyways, here’s the day in photos.
maybe, Privates, Corporals and lance corporals are really lousy dudes who cannot amount to ANYTHING in their service for the nation. Spit at us.
with two stooges and a beng for the night.

as to why i’m staying in, thats because there’s some doggone run tomorrow at 7am and guess who’s the photographer.

i hope tomorrow’s reportage will turn out nice with my dad’s early birthday present for me (i think he wants to buy it to use it but still, if i’m using it most of the time, i’m happy. thanks dad! i know you’re reading this.)
spent the entire day at the printer’s collecting and folding the stuff. i miscalculated a little so the bloody card cannot really fold properly, but its not really visible (still, i am not happy with it. i need it to be PERFECT. sigh.. anyways, i will be bringing back a few for my portfolio.)
received a lot of comments about the invites, honestly, i think there’s room for improvements. but, thats why there’s this thing called Version 2.1 and so on. yay to changes!
picked some of my favourite photos from the anniversary run on tuesday. enjoy. =)
here’s OCS commander changing his stuff during yesterday’s run. i bet he drinks petrol and runs on 4 V8 engines. he finished 700m of swim and 8km in under 50min.

recently, this guy got arrested for making racist comments in his blog. i’m against racism, although i think racist remakrs are funny sometimes. but i just want to point out that that guy felt offended because the other fella was probably doing something uncivilized in public. but i stress again, the way how he expressed his anger was wrong. So, why am i bringing this up? because i was boarding the train today and this foreigner kept pushing me into the train, i gently nudged him with my bag and he punched my bag. THE DSLR WAS INSIDE (don’t worry dad, i check already, nothing wrong with it). i walked off angrily but he seemed nonchalant about it. i just feel that they bring their own cultures here and expect us to live with it, that is really insensitive. when you’re living under someone’s roof, you must learn to bow down. And i’m not siding Singaporeans either. my cousin just told me he has got a singaporean classmate who uses SMS language to email his lecturer. His lecturer replied “please decode your email” and he got offended. i think the lecturer has got every right to tell him off. bottomline is this. don’t bring your country’s cultures or mentality to another person’s country. it’ll piss them off.
