that did not just happen..
i was doing work at home when my mum called.
mum: “andy, can you go to this unit and tell the mum that her son is downstairs crying, looking for his mummy?”
andy: “okok. sure.”
so i made my way to the place. the mum was just about to leave the house, she was on the phone, telling her son she’s about to come to pick him up. i noticed she was limping, bandaged and all.
andy: “hi, are you the mum’s whose son is crying downstairs?”
mum: “yes yes”
andy: “oh, alright, my mum’s with him at the moment. lets go down to bring him up”
mum: “ok”
she was really walking in pain, so…
andy: “you seem to be in pain. why not i fetch him up and you wait here.”
mum: “no, its okay.”
andy: “no, no, really, it’ll be alright”
i smiled and walked off while she thanked me.
when i reached downstairs, i saw the little kid. i totally felt for the poor kid. when i was a kid, i forgot my house keys and no one was home. i cried my hearts out and my neighbor brought me into their place while my mum came home to open the door for me. i was real terrified and i felt so comforted by my neighbor’s love. so i could understand what the kid was going through.
andy: “helloo! your mummy injured her leg. she cannot walk properly so i’m here to bring you up. ok?”
boy: “ok……..”
andy: “great! lets go..!”
my mum glanced at me and smiled. i didnt want the lift ride to be awefully silent so…
andy: “the weather’s hot. arent you hot in the sweater?”
boy: “no….”
my mum: “the bus has aircon you know?”
andy: “oh yea hor…”
the lift door opened. so i walked the kid to his place, my mum went back first. the kid saw him mum and i think he was still reeling in the fact that he was lost. he just walked straight into his mum’s arms. the mum couldnt stop thanking me. i just went.
“no problems!”
and of course, smiled.
++
because i can totally feel how the kid felt (yea yea, laugh at me for crying when i was locked out of my house.), i really wanted to help him. its something the current me would help the eight/nine year old me.
love is what makes the world go round and round.
